  • Taking a Pause (and a little Lent) w/ Elizabeth Caldwell

    Send us Fan Mail

Elizabeth Caldwell, Author of Pause: Spending Lent with the Psalms

    Guest Question:
We hear in church about Lent being an ideal time to pause and reflect on scripture, God, and our lives. But what makes Lent so special? Also, are there lessons or practices from Lenten-style pauses or reflections that we can use at other times of the year?

  • The Connectional Church w/ Jihyun Oh

    Send us Fan Mail

    Special Guest:
Jihyun Oh, Director of Mid Council Ministries & Associate Stated Clerk, Office of the General Assembly (PCUSA)

    Guest Question:
People say the PCUSA is a connectional church. But we often hear about ways that those connections are not always as strong we would like them to be. For example, some churches or areas of the country seem to get more attention or support than others. It also sometimes feels like there is a disconnect between the national church and local congregations. How can we be better connected, especially in today’s society?

This week we are sending all the prayers and love to our siblings in Maui!

    Special Guest: 7:30
Rev. Erin Jean Warde, Episcopal Priest, Spiritual Director, Recovery Coach & Author of Sober Spirituality: The Joy of a Mindful Relationship with Alcohol

    Guest Question:
We don’t talk about the consumption of alcohol in our faith communities very often. But we know there are Christians who struggle with alcohol. There is also a spectrum of experiences and relationships that people have with alcohol throughout their lives. What does it mean to have a healthy relationship with alcohol (if any), particularly for people of faith? And for those who do struggle with drinking, how we can best walk alongside them?

Samantha Davis, Associate for Gender and Racial Justice, PCUSA

    Guest Question:
There are many different groups of people calling for justice such as people of color, women, and the queer community. If an individual or church wants to be part of the push for justice for any of these groups, how does one know where to start? Which issues should be addressed first? Who do we listen to?

    Send us Fan Mail
