This episode is a bit different for A-Maze-Ing Careers. Today I thought I’d bring you something tangible you can sink your teeth in to, to help you take ownership of your career maze. So alongside me I have Jaqui Winston. Jaqui is a professional CV writer, and we’ve been partnering together to help people find new roles that fulfil them. And on a personal level I’ve been fortunate to benefit from all of Tina’s experiences as she runs the networking group I’m in. Her story is a true testament that no decision is forever and decisions can be changed so we all have more choices than we realise.

Ever since I started this podcast in 2022 I’ve had my cousin Tama front of mind to be a guest on it. It’s taken us a while but we’re finally here. I’ve seen Tama’s career journey first-hand, even helped her with some of her job applications. Her journey has been that classic combination of wanting to feel fulfilled in a career as well as navigating personal milestones like wanting to become a parent. Like Leah in the episode, “From Malta with Love” Tama’s journey also involves a couple of country jumps too, so I’m excited to let you hear how she’s navigated all of that to a point of career fulfillment now.

Today’s episode is the first episode in A-Maze-Ing Career’s history where I’m sharing the story of someone who’s transitioned internally, and Sydne did it in one of the world’s most well-known businesses. Sydne’s journey is less about not knowing what she wanted to do, but more about how she managed her own journey to get to do what she wanted to do. This is no mean feat when you’re navigating a complex global organisation of over 220,000 employees. So now we’ll hand it over to Sydne to hear how she achieved this.

We have a treat in store for you today on this next episode of A-Maze-Ing Careers. I have admired Deborah from afar as every time we meet up she seems to have navigated herself to another new role in a great organisation. I’ve been consistently impressed with how she did this so asked her to share her story with all of you. Today you’re going to hear about someone who’s courageous, absolutely goes after what she wants and if she has your corner then she will back you to the hilt. Deborah is also going to share some really valuable advice on making a change on limited resources, and as the title suggests don't be put off doing what you want, so definitely listen to the end on this one!

We’re starting off series 3 of A-Maze-Ing Careers with a bang! 
Ellen’s story is one not only of finding meaning in her career after being unfulfilled for many years, but I think what she does now will give many of you a way of truly understanding what’s important to you. 

As with so many people I meet who have made big career shifts, Ellen followed many paths that turned out to be dead ends. She also had side hustles to help her keep earning the money she’d become used to having (sound familiar?). Her true fulfilment ended up coming out of nowhere off the back of a “why not?” decision. The key word for this episode is “intuition” - listen to it and follow it.

It is a complete pleasure to welcome Jana Hennig to A-Maze-Ing Careers. Not only did we find out when we first spoke that we did the same course at the same university so she’s obviously an incredible person, but Jana’s story is one of the most maze-like that I’ve come across. It  starts in East Germany where she was born and goes through not-for-profit, Finance, Marketing culminating in marine biology, and all of this across multiple countries. She has lots of hints and tips she wants to share with you so have a paper and pen handy as you listen.
