In August 2002, thirty-one-year-old nurse Audrey Herron finished her shift, climbed into her Jeep Grand Cherokee, and began the 13-mile drive home on a rainy, foggy evening. She never arrived. From that night forward, neither Audrey nor her Jeep has ever been found. Some believe she was involved in a crash and that both she and her vehicle remain hidden somewhere within the region's waterways or rugged terrain despite years of extensive searches. Others believe she encountered someone on that dark drive home, or perhaps even after she arrived. Whatever happened, Audrey left behind a husband, family, friends, and three young children who have now grown into adults still searching for answers about what happened to their mother.
