Today’s Gospel is from John Chapter 12, verses 24-26

Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone serves me, my Father will honour him.”

The world often tells us that honour comes through success, recognition, or status.  In today’s Gospel, Jesus says it comes through service.  To follow him is to love, to forgive, to be patient, and to put others before ourselves.

Most of those acts of service will never make the headlines.  They may even go unnoticed.  But Jesus reminds us that nothing done out of love is ever unseen.  The Father sees every quiet act of kindness and every faithful sacrifice, and he delights in those who follow his Son.

Let us ask ourselves today: How can I serve Christ in the people I meet?
