March 23, 2023011. Health Myths Busted | Collin DeesToday we sit down with Collin Dees to talk all things health and wellness. We start off by exploring how Collin first got the idea of getting involved in the medical field. It started when he experienced the power that proper nutrition had on him from a performance perspective. Collin was a successful high school wrestler that eventually wrestled in college. He credits his success with his intelligent approach to nutrition off the mat. His original passion surrounding nutrition had him wanting to study dietetics, but the (literal) payoff just wasn't there. After graduating from college he became a Physicians Assistant at the Cleveland Clinic. He quickly became disenchanted with the traditional medical approach of constant medication without lifestyle adaptation. Paired with the lack of skin in the game that comes at a large company, Collin made a change and is now pursuing a health approach that blends medicine, nutrition, and supplementation. Collin currently works at a wellness clinic in Tampa, Florida, and publishes his own work through E-books and social media posts. The second half of the podcast consists of the actionable steps you can take to maximize your health. From supplementing with Vitamin D and Magnesium to filtering your water and cooking with stainless steal pans. This is where Collin showcases his expertise in health and nutrition. March 04, 2023009. Motherhood, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Presence | Jen SakowskiToday we sit down with our first female entrepreneur on the podcast, Jen Sakowski. Jen runs a digital marketing business that focuses on organic reach and creating a presence that converts. We have a conversation about how some businesses focus so much on the metrics of their website traffic, that they lose the authentic voice of speaking with their customers. Jen makes a compelling case that playing the long game in business comes with identifying your audience and speaking to them directly. Videos, blog posts, and websites in general should strike a balance of informing search engines and speaking to the audience they're trying to help. We also take a deep dive with Jen into our own website to see how we score. We do some things right, but as you'll see, we do a lot of things wrong. After talking tactics about digital presence we start to move into the pressures that female entrepreneurs feel - appropriately balancing motherhood and business. We talk about the importance of putting your metaphorical oxygen mask on first before putting on anyone else's. Don't' forget to share this episode and leave us a 5 star review. ...more1h 8minPlay
February 26, 2023008. High Risk, High Reward | Crypto, Entrepreneurship, and Dropping out | Jerry AntonucciCrypto is the Wild West of financial instruments. You can trade 24/7 and there's little regulation. Recently, crypto has come under fire from the FTX scandal. Historically, we have several big time investors (Buffet, Monger) who believe it's a junk asset class and at least some coins will go down to 0. We have other investors (Wood, Musk) who believe in a digital future. Who's right? It's impossible to know. Today we sit down with a believer in Crypto - Jerry Antonucci to explain his side of the story. Jerry began working for the crypto company - Blue - his senior year of high school. After running a successful marketing campaign for them and getting paid in Blue token, the run up in 2016 saw him build substantial wealth at a very young age. After the initial success Jerry continued to invest in different coins and build his net worth in the digital asset class. He maintains and grows his crypto portfolio to this day, but to make fiat money he runs a car detailing business. This was a service he started providing when he needed cash and didn't want to liquidate his crypto funds. He got into car detailing specifically because that's where his interests, skills, and needs all intersected (Que The Lost Millennial Male - Episode 1). He keeps himself in good community by being a real estate agent on the side. This was an interesting side bar when it comes to our conversation. Volume is at a 12 year low at the time of this recording and clients are slim pickings. We talk about the struggles of real estate and some of the strategies to make hay when the sun is shining. In total, we get into the tactics of finding the right cryptocurrency to invest in, what to avoid, and how to create a-symetrical bets. We talk about the struggles of running a small business. And lastly we touch on the real estate market in Western PA. If you learned something, leave us a 5 star review and share the podcast. We will see you in the next episode. ...more1h 20minPlay
February 14, 2023007. The Defense Lab | Realistic Solutions to Modern Day ThreatsIn this episode we're sitting down with Daniel Contraguerro from The Defense Lab and talking all things self-defense. First and foremost we talk about why everyone thinks they can fight, and the sad reality that very few people can actually defend themselves effectively. We then spend some time talking about deselecting yourself as a potential victim. The best form of self-defense is confidence, situational awareness and moving with purpose. If push comes to shove and it's time to fight, we talk about how to train for a fight. Combat sports are highly removed from the realities of a violent encounter. They are certainly helpful, but if you want it to translate, you have to add some elements of self defense training from time to time in your combat sports. When it comes to guns, Danny prefers a 9mm and a front carry with a hard back holster. This provides a great balance in his opinion. In terms of knives, Danny prefers a fixed blade knife in a sheath carried in front as well. Training with all of these modalities will help develop a violence of mind (thanks for the term Freeborn) that will allow you to react accordingly if the time comes. We cover a lot of ground when it comes to self-defense in this podcast and I highly recommend reaching out to Danny at The Defense Lab for more information. ...more1h 29minPlay
February 07, 2023006. Lessons in Leadership from First Sergeant Keith SandorLeadership is a difficult topic. What does leadership mean, how do you do it, and how do you get better at it? We tackle some of these questions in today's podcast. What I found interesting in this podcast is that Keith's leadership style changed mid career and he saw faster progress because of it. His old leadership style was focused on himself and building his career through the traditional military means of checking the necessary boxes. His switch involved focusing less on himself and more on the people relying on him to lead. He also had to lead by example by getting his metaphorical house in order. Leading with positive character and a posture of service was like adding rocket fuel to his military career. Keith uses the same principles for leading his family and men's ministry. My biggest takeaway from this podcast was to lead consistently. I do a great job creating systems and empowering my guys, I just need to consistently follow up because "consistency builds, complacency kills."...more1hPlay
January 28, 2023005. Escaping your 9 to 5 | Nathanael MortonToday we sit down with sports performance coach Nathanael Morton. Nathanael specializes in improving basketball players' vertical jump and he's built a business surrounding this concept. We talk to him about why he did it, how he did it, and the tactics necessary to grow an online business. The first half of the podcast is more strategic and from a higher view point on growing a business in general. We talk about using your free time to work on your side hustle, constantly improving on your craft, and relentless execution. We also talk about a great information product that YOU can create and the people YOU can help. Sometimes escaping your 9 to 5 with an information product is as simple as helping the people who are several steps behind you. The second half of the podcast we settle into a great tactical conversation on growing an online business. Nate shares with us how he grew his audience, how he leverages social media to grow his business, and the business model he used to escape his 9 to 5 job. This was a masterclass in online marketing and small business development. We finish the podcast off by asking Nate what his favorite books are and what the best piece of advice he ever received was. There's a lot of overlap between the books Nate recommends and the books Alex recommends showing that there are principles in business that translate regardless of the business model. If you like the podcast please leave us a 5 star review and share this with someone who would benefit. ...more1h 19minPlay

Addiction can, and eventually will ruin your life. Today we sit down with Luke McHugh and work through defining addiction, the path to recovery, and taking a lifetime goal of staying clean and breaking it down to a day by day promise to yourself. These couple episodes are starting to reveal the "rules to the game" if you will. Whether you're battling addiction or not, I do believe you'll get something from this podcast. ...more1h 49minPlay

December 12, 2022002. From Kabul to Pittsburgh - The Bobby Murda StoryToday we sit down with Amateur MMA Featherweight Champion Fredaws "Bobby Murda" Nayimi. Bobby amassed a 25-7 Kickboxing record where he won multiple titles including World Amateur Muay Thai Association of Canada Title at 140lbs, a second place finish at the World Kickboxing Association American Nationals and was a member of the Canadian Kickboxing team. Bobby's come up could be a movie. Bobby illegally escaped from Afghanistan during the Taliban takeover in the 90's. From there he lived in a one bedroom house with 14 other people in Russia. After spending 10 years in Russia he emigrated to Canada. He made some good choices and some bad choices in Canada but ultimately decided to chase his dream to be a pro MMA fighter and moved to Western PA to work on his ground game. There are some good nuggets that athletes, businesspeople, and overall grinders can take from this podcast. The biggest takeaway I got from this is that we have it GOOD in the states. We forget that sometimes. Even when things seem dark, we're still in the land of opportunity where dreams really do come true. ...more1h 21minPlay
