When Shelly Shepherd recently asked me what it felt like to marry Christ after staying in solicitude and silence with the Beloved for years, I had no words.

It’s hard to explain the depth of the experience.

As I reflected on her question afterwards, what came was a sense of Homecoming: “Finally.” Like an exhale after centuries of holding my breath. Of being found after a lifetime of searching for the Beloved.
