Did you know that over 200 million girls and women across 30 countries have undergone Female Genital Mutilation? Female Genital Mutilation is defined by the WHO as a practice that involves the partial or total remove of external female genital or injury to the female genital organs for non - medical reasons. The practice has no health benefits for girls and women.
In this Episode we celebrate Masooma Ranalvi. Masooma is a Law graduate, a Chevening Scholar, with a Diploma on Women in Leadership and Management, University of Bradford. She is an Aspen New Voices Fellow 2020. She works as a trainer on issues of gender and sexual harassment and is a social activist. In 2015, she took the bold step to be vocal about her views on the practice on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) having been a victim of the practice when she was young. She founded an organization called WeSpeakOut which is the largest survivor-led platform working against FGM in India and the world.
