A New Level Awaits You with Lois Flewelling

Eyes Opened. Gates Guarded. Lamps Burning. is a call to spiritual awareness, responsibility, and readiness in a time when believers cannot afford to become spiritually complacent.

God opens our eyes not simply so we can recognize what is happening around us, but so we can respond with wisdom. Discernment carries responsibility. We are called to guard the gates of our hearts, minds, homes, and areas of influence, being intentional about what we allow to enter and what we choose to carry.

But discernment and guarding are not enough. Our lamps must also remain burning. Like the wise virgins in Matthew 25, we cannot depend upon someone else's oil when the moment comes. Our relationship with God must be personally and consistently cultivated. Others can teach us the Word and point us toward God, but they cannot cultivate our relationship with Him for us.

This message challenges us to ask: Are my eyes open to what God is revealing? Am I guarding what He has entrusted to me? Is there fresh oil in my lamp?

This is not a call to fear what is happening in the world. It is a call to become spiritually awake, firmly established in the Lord, and prepared to respond when He speaks.

Eyes opened. Gates guarded. Lamps burning. Be watchful. Be discerning. Be ready.

We are living in a time when there are countless voices competing for our attention, but the Church is called to do more than simply observe what is happening around us. We are called to discern the times, recognize what God is doing, and understand how He wants us to respond.

When Discernment Requires Courage

Sometimes discernment requires us to accept a difficult truth, walk away from something familiar, remain faithful in a challenging season, have a necessary conversation, or take a step of obedience before we know how everything will turn out.

There are moments when God whispers an invitation, and there are moments when He sounds an alarm. “Get a grip” is a call to the Body of Christ to awaken from complacency, draw closer to God, and become firmly established in Him.

We are living in significant times, and this is not the season for a casual or comfortable relationship with God. The Lord is calling His people deeper—to know His voice, remain anchored in His truth, strengthen our spiritual foundations, and stand firm regardless of what may be happening around us.

Galatians 5:1 tells us, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then…” There is an urgency in those words. Freedom has been given to us, but we must choose where we will stand.

Throughout Scripture, God warned and prepared His people before significant moments. Noah continued building when others did not understand. Jonah carried a warning to Nineveh. The prophets repeatedly called God's people back to Him. God's warnings were not given to produce fear—they were expressions of His mercy, calling people to prepare, return, and respond.

Get a Grip is that kind of message. It is a challenge to examine where we have become spiritually comfortable, distracted, or complacent and to intentionally strengthen our relationship with the Lord.

This is the time to stand firm, draw near, and go deeper.

God is calling His people to become rooted, grounded, discerning, and prepared—not afraid of what lies ahead, but confident in the One in whom we stand.

Have you ever sensed that God was showing you something and immediately wondered, “Now what am I supposed to do with this?” Maybe someone's name came strongly to mind.
