A picture of you in my mind

Listen Later

A picture of you in my mind

Looking back at a younger man, who’s shoes I used to wear

Few less pounds, and no gray streaks running through my hair

Wandered for years trying to paint a picture of what I’d hoped to find

Someone to hold in the morning and kiss goodnight, I got a picture of you in my mind

But those pounds showed up along with more than enough gray

So many times, I thought I’d found it, but I just couldn’t get it to stay

The image of that perfect fit, somewhere so nice with someone so loving and kind

I guess we all carry that dream around, I know I do I have a picture of you in my mind

A picture of a place, could be anywhere we choose

As it develops into view, I see the colors and the hues

A picture with the one who can take me to the moon and back

It becomes so clear to see that it’s you, babe I’m on the right track

A picture of you in my mind, took me a lifetime to define

Aged to perfection like a bottle of fine wine

A picture of you in my mind, of you and I all laughter and smiles, loving embrace

A picture of you in my mind, of you and I, I don’t think I ever had a bigger smile across my face

I’m proud to have you in my life, to call you honey and hear you coo

I melt like chocolate in the hot sun knowing that I still captivate you

There’s too much confusion in the world, pounded down by the daily grind

But I ride above it every time, cause baby I’m carrying a picture of you in my mind

Yeah, a picture of you in my mind
