Sorry folks, for the extra-long podcast. This week, in light of Pope Francis's recent troublesome comments, Dan & Eric discuss other religions--what the Catholic Church teaches about them and how we should interact with the members.

In current events, we talk about the Green New Deal & Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's insanity when dealing with Amazon. Israel cancels a summit because of Poland's involvement in the holocaust. Tramp gets sued for building the wall, while Bernie Sanders promises to be a serious candidate. Payless Shoes is going out of business (sad). The Supreme Court slaps down excessive fines from local & state governments. A new dinosaur is discovered in Utah (Rex has some competition). Japanese space probe lands on an asteroid.

In non-sense-ville, a school banns dew-rags, and students protest. A man comes home to find he suddenly has a new family.

We answer an email from someone who wants to know if she should take communion under both species.

This week Eric joins Jason again (now dubbed the Ambassador of Common Nonsense) and they talk about transgenders… how does a Catholic react to a man who thinks he's a woman?

In current events, we cover a lot of ground, starting with Trump's State of the Union Address--BRILIANT!

We also talk about the shifting magnetic poles and NASA's MarCO satellites. Jeff Bezos makes the news with pictures of his genitals. Measles makes a come-back, and we talk about vaccinations and moral objections. And finally--Elizabeth Warren (dubbed Pocahontas by Trump, Phocahontas by Rush Limbaugh) is going to run for president.

This week Eric and Jason (Dan is on a cruise somewhere) discuss some of the fundamental points on abortion: what it is and why we're against it as Catholics. We go over the different kinds of abortion, and the fact that they haven't changed much in the last 30 years. We also talk about some of the ridiculous arguments for abortion, and why they are wrong.

In current events (played first, before the main subject, this week) we talk about the prime minister of England and her Brexit plans. Six Tanzanian children are found dead with missing body parts, Trump prepares for his State of the Union address, and Israel has cured cancer. Also mentioned: Italy's economy, Facebook fact checking, & Russia's plan to build missiles.

Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Nonsense) discuss the latest Gillette commercial depicting men as historically toxic, and ask what's wrong with some of the more harmless masculine behavior. Are these attitudes harming today's young men? Is there any cure for it?

In current events we talk about the arrest of Roger Stone, Trump's temporary end of the government shutdown (did Trump give in?), and Venezuela's new leader. Dan's nonsense report covers throwing flip flops and a boy spending three days with 'a bear.'

In a more serious note, we talk about New York's latest abortion legislation and why this is so harmful for the country… pray for America.

Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Nonsense) talk about the Covington Catholic high schoolers who were harassed, first by the "Black Israelites," then by a group of Native Americans, then by the secular media, and finally by their own Bishop. Absolutely disghusting… and we're still waiting for the apology from the Diocese of Covington Kentucky.

In current events, Dan tells us about the new Elvis traffic lights in Germany (pictured below), and forgets about the time he had his car buried in the snow.  Also in the news: hacking nest cameras.

Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Nonsense) discuss modern liturgical music (church music) in the American Catholic Church. Let's face it--today's music is hokey, fluffy, and intellectually shallow. Why? And why is it this way practically across the board, in every Catholic church in the US?

In Current events, we talk about a recent asteroid collision, Democrat 2020 presidential hopefuls, and THE 2019 GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN… we also mention the Kinder Surprise Egg racial blunder and a woman banned from Walmart.

This week Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Non-sense) discuss the plight of American Indians and whether the 'White Man' was justified in taking their land. Did Americans try, in any way, to peacefully convert them… and did they even ALLOW the Native Americans to assimilate?

North Korea blows up DNZ guard posts. South Korea shuts down dog-meat slaughterhouse. Amazon in Spain & Germany go on strike, coinciding with Black Saturday.

This week in A Podcast About Catholic Things, Eric (The Ambassador Of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Nonsense) tackle the question that everyone asks--why does God give us hardships? Is it a test? Does He even care? Obviously, we didn't completely answer the age-old query in an hour-long podcast… but we might mention something you haven't thought of. Warning--if you're suffering right now, and you want to know why, we're probably not going to make you feel much better.

And in current events, we discuss the mess that is the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). In fact, we probably spend more time on it than the US bishops are worth.  We also mention Jim Accosta's fight with Trump, Bernie Sander's ludicrous proposal, and a new planet discovery.
