  • Trump Vs Biden - Where Catholics Should Stand, Issue by Issue
This week on A Podcast About Catholic Things, Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Non-Sense) talk about the upcoming presidential election--probably the most important one in American history. They break down, subject by subject, the two candidates and point out the Catholic position (whether admitted to by American bishops or not) on: every American's duty to vote, abortion, racism, Covid19, riots in America, key Catholic controversies, government spending and the economy, China, healthcare, Russiagate, and Trump's unpresidential attitude.
In Current events, Mexico claims women are being sterilized at the border, astronomers detect wobbling of black hole shadow, underwater liquid water discovered on Mars, Google and YouTube say no more political ads after November 3rd, Portland's emergency as they anticipate Proud Boys protest, TikTok ban blocked, and Trump's tax returns.

  • Saint Joan Of Arc
This week on A Podcast About Catholic Things, Eric and Dan discuss the legendary Saint Joan of Arc. Her name is often used as an example of feminism, but her role in the French army was not as a woman fighting for equal rights--she was a chaste girl following the orders of God. Her heroic measures ensured the survival of France as a nation, separate from her European neighbors, with strong borders that would survive for centuries. The intervention God provided may well have protected France from the coming heresies and Catholic persecutions. During this period of history, God seems to have a fondness for the French, and we can see His providence throughout the evolution of France as a nation… possibly the same sort of providence seen in early American history, indicating God's will that US borders remain strong and intact. Eric brings up past podcasts and rehashes the subject of statues of confederate generals and their removal from the public square.
In current events, Trump suggests postponing the 2020 election, tweaking the media and setting them into a rage. The Perseverance Rover is successfully launched and on its way to Mars. Crew Dragon Endeavour makes splashdown. SN5 has successful flight test. The 2020 sports season and the players' lack of respect for American culture--and what that might mean for sports fans in the future. Gary Knopp's suspicious death. A possible Covid19 vaccine. TikTok is attacked by President Trump. Lee Man-hee is arrested for embezzling 5.6 billion won--and lies to virus trackers. Mike Dewine either does or doesn't have the ChinaVirus. Demonstrations against Covid19 restrictions pop up all over the world. California is burning… again. People of Portland still being terrorized by Antifa and BLM.
In the Land of Nonsense, worshippers gather in Walmart to hold Sunday services. Eric complains about Cleveland.

  • American Bishops... Where are They?
This week on A Podcast About Catholic Things, Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Non-Sense) talk about the bishops of the Church… specifically the American ones and the lack of leadership (with a couple of heroic exceptions, like Strickland and Vigano) in our country. How do we deal with it? What should our reaction be? And will the traditional Catholic Church come out on top in the end? And what about these masks… should we wear them or should we not?
In Current events, a sealed copy of Super Morio Brothers sells for a hundred grand. Fires in California and Florida Catholic churches. Washington Redskins will now be the Washington Yellowbacks. Jeff Sessions gets creamed in primary. Kanye West running for president.

  • Pope John XXIII, Pope Paul VI, And Other Vatican II 'Saints'
This week on A Podcast About Catholic Things, Eric (The Ambassador of Common Sense) and Dan (The Ambassador of Non-Sense) talk about the "saints" of Vatican II. Years after the council, we see the devastating effects it had on our church--why then are those who made it happen elevated to sainthood, and is their canonization "infallible?" These are deep questions that extend into Pope Francis's public heretical statements, and how we should react to a pope who doesn't seem Catholic.
In current events, Hong Kong protesters are arrested. Germany wants to go powerless. Trump announces plans for the National Garden of American Heroes. China claims to strike hydrogen, while another group finds a planet that is half molten iron and half evaporated iron. States report no new Covid 19 deaths. This week on A Podcast About Catholic Things, we start our historical American series: The Miracle of America. We talk about the founding of the British colonies in Massachusetts and the real introduction of capitalism in America--a system to be copied by all the following colonies.
In current events, more madness from the left: BLM, ANTIFA, defunding police departments, and COVID19 craze. North Korea is making their usual threats. The US Supreme Court makes several bad decisions that leave us scratching our heads. Trump is ALONE in Washington--we must support him. Facebook condemns a Trump symbol.

  • The Holy Trinity and the Orthodox Argument
This week, on A Podcast About Catholic Things, just after Trinity Sunday, Eric and Dan discuss the importance of meditating on, and learning about, the Holy Trinity. Dan makes the argument that the Orthodox, and the Eastern churches who are already united with Rome, would do well to change their creed to reflect the western model of the Trinity.
In current events, New York is disappearing. Seattle, Washington is under siege by ANTIFA and has declared CHAZ autonomous from America. COPS, Gone With The Wind, and several other classics are disappearing from the streaming world. NASCAR bans the Confederate flag. Eric makes the argument that every Catholic has a moral responsibility to fully support Donald Trump, and marvels at the irony of it.
In the land of nonsense, a Polish army accidentally wanders outside their borders.

  • Riots, Defunding The Police, And Other Nonsense
This week on A Podcast About Catholic Things, Dan and Eric talk about the world-wide insanity happening in almost every major city. The riots seem to be about more than racism and police brutality. What is under attack is Americanism--and we have to fight to keep it alive.
In the news, the WHO is reporting new cases of Ebola. Vladimir Putin spills 20,000 tons of oil into a river. Space X deploys 60 more Starlink satellites. Governor Northam in Virginia tears down a Rober E. Lee monument.
In the land of nonsense, the Grim Reaper makes an appearance in Florida. In Dallas, a demolition crew screws up and half demolishes building. Dan tries to replay a nonsense news item.
