Stretching sneakers can be a great way to increase the comfort of your shoes, making them easier to wear for long periods of time and eliminating the risk of common foot injuries. Here is a simple guide on how to stretch sneakers and make them more comfortable:
Wet the shoe. Fill a sink or bowl with warm water, and submerge the shoes completely. Let them soak for 10-15 minutes.
Remove the shoe from the water and stuff it with newspaper. Make sure the paper is packed tightly, so the shoe stays stretched in the desired position. Let it sit for an hour or two.
Take out the newspaper and use a blow dryer to dry the shoe. Turn it to the low or medium setting and start drying the shoe from the inside out. Place the dryer directly on the shoe and move it in a circular motion.
Insert a shoe stretcher. Place the stretcher into the shoe and adjust it so that it fits snugly. Turn the screw or lever in the stretcher until you feel the shoe stretch.
Leave the shoe stretcher in the shoe overnight.
Remove the stretcher and try the shoe on. The shoe should fit comfortably. If it's too tight, repeat the stretching process.
