There have been a lot of reports recently about something called an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) report released by Duke Energy. It’s filled with dozens of pages with statistics, projections and promises about the future of energy. While Duke Energy praises its efforts to move away from coal and reach net zero carbon emissions, some critics argue the company is saying it will do more than it is actually doing here in North Carolina and across the utilities’ footprint. So what does this all mean, especially for customers?
