Hello! This episode we will be looking at foreign lands and objects with the lens of a Parisian. A perfect way to describe this episode is a short getaway on the cruise, most obviously because we will be talking about The Sea, and about French music inspired by stories along the Mediterranean and Ionian coasts. Bonjour! For today and the next two weeks, we will be going on a musical trip to Paris! With the pandemic going on it is hard for us to travel so I hope we can have a taste of the beautiful city of Paris through the composers' works. We will start with the late 19th century this week by introducing Camille Saint-Säens and his student Gabriel Faure. Please stay tuned for the "impressionistic" music next week!
