Fresh from her ladder and big overhaul of her swanky new premises, I catch up with Lou Dempsey aka Lashes on Fleek to see how she is finding the second lockdown.
Back to speak with one of my UK girls now; Genevieve Hickin. Founder and organiser or The Lash Social UK. We catch up on the industry awards, her fears for a longer lockdown and how she feels very different about this one to the last one.
DISCLAIMER...Trina wants to add this to the description. Let's just say we do not discuss lashes at all; instead we cover Covid and the impact is it having on multiple levels. Trina shares her thoughts on the restrictions and the wider impact on the human race. She's not a conspiracist exactly but she encourages us to at least ask questions when our lives are being so negatively impacted by this virus. Also she talks about the need to have a 'Family Plan' - which I don't! Such a challenging discussion for me and really got me thinking. So buckle up and get ready for this one if you're game! (apologies for slight sound blips)
On day 6 of lockdown mark 2 in England I head back to speak to Tara Fisher aka Farnham Eyelashes. I find out where her head is at this time around and find her desperately trying to relax....do you think she's going to manage it? (I have my doubts!)
Heading of to the land of lockdown in the West of the UK - Wales. The country is locked down until the 9th November. Arune Mooney is a multi award winning artist and trainer. See how she is handling the 2nd lockdown and her theories on how to beat the virus as individuals.
A new voice on Behind The Lashes today. I speak to Shannon Boyle in Northern Ireland to find out how things are going since their 2nd lockdown of the beauty industry. This 23 year old is a force to be admired. Tender in years but heaped in experience. Check out her entrepreneurial spirit and positive mindset. It's not all been plain sailing by any means. Such a fascinating interview.
Well I've tracked her down...I've found Hanna Putjato! Such a lovely catch up with Hanna. A truly positive vibe as you might expect but amongst all her optimism about the industry in general, there's some really solid business advice. A good value listen for sure!
I am back with Katie Godfrey in this episode to catch up with her since she's been able to open her salon fully. How is business? Is she finding it slow like so many of us? If so, does she have any advice on how we can keep ourselves motivated and feeling any sense of financial security?
So good to be back to speak with Nikki Atkins aka Essex Lash to see how this English lash artist is finding life since the re-opening of her beloved salon, the kids going back to school and this weeks change to the law.
A selection of voices gathered at very short notices tonight, in response to the late news that most lash artists in England can start tomorrow (15th August 2020). What a rollercoaster! We've got this though and we really are all in this together...
