  • Ep 46 Christina Part 2
Christina and I continue our conversation from last week. She said after the interview that she wanted to be clear that having a large family is a lot of hard work. We talk children, male and female roles, God’s provision, and diversity. I’ve put a couple of links below for the things we talked about and I’ve also included the NaNoWriMo website, and my blog website in case anyone wants to know what I was talking about in the introduction.

She and her family show hospitality in various ways to backpackers who are working in the orchards in the Huon Valley. She is a harpist and composer and shares her faith through her music, and she also supports visual artists to share their work and their art through the Pilgrim Artists Festival.

  • Ep 44 Celeste
Celeste has travelled a few places in response to God’s call on her life. A few years ago she came from Argentina to Tasmania, and now she is in England. She talks about depending on God, about stepping out in faith, and about God knowing our needs before we ask them.
William Temple said, ‘When I pray, coincidences happen, and when I don’t, they don’t.’
Celeste also mentioned Luke 4: 24 “Truly I tell you,” he continued, “No prophet is accepted in his hometown.”

  • Ep 43 Michelle
Have you ever wondered what it is like to be on the other side of the dentist’s chair? Why a dentist would go into that job of sticking their hands into people’s mouths? We talk to Michelle, a dentist who owns her own practice, and we find out what drives her, what joys she finds in her work and in the Lord.
Michelle talks about Craig Groeschel, and you can find more about him here:

    1 Corinthians 13:1–3
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

  • Ep 40 Amber
Trigger Warning: Amber talks about her mental illness and shares some of her writing about when she attempted suicide.
Mental illness is something that none of us want to confront. But one in five Australians experience a mental or behavioural condition so it’s something that we really need to come to terms with.
Amber suffers from depression and psychosis. She has chosen to share her story with us to help us to understand how to help and be there for people who have these kinds of issues. She is very clear about what she suffers but I’m very grateful to her for sharing. Amber tells us about how her creative writing helps her to deal with her illness.
Whether you’re suffering from this kind of illness or not, I pray that each of us grows in our understanding, mental health, and ability to support each other.

  • Ep 38 John – Simply love her
This is the second half of the interview with my Dad. We start in the USA and then come back home to Tasmania to talk about Dad’s ministry in the Anglican church. We also discuss Dad’s depression and how he realised he needed to be real about that with his congregation and how important that was.
We see many more instances of God’s faithfulness and his love for his people.
I am taking a break from the podcast for a little while but there will be more interviews shortly. Make sure you’re subscribed so that you see us pop up when I’m back.
