In this episode of the Super Rad BMX Podcast, Brad Fanshaw and Tim Lillethorup take you on an exclusive tour of the incredible new BMX exhibit at the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska! 🏁
We sit down with Museum Curator Tim Matthews, who shares his BMX racing roots and the passion that fueled the creation of this first-class BMX display inside one of the world's largest motorsports museums. 🚲
What's Inside the Exhibit: A jaw-dropping JMC collection from Bill Felts and his son, Billy Felts Jr. – including the legendary TwerpMobile that dominated BMX magazines in the late '70s and early '80s. Billy's race gear, trophies, and travel stories (over 800,000 flight miles!) are all on display. Tim Matthews's collection features an SE Racing PK Ripper, Hutch Lil' Holeshot, and a stunning 1975 Matthews Mono Shock. Iconic bikes from Hutch, JMC, Redline, Mongoose, GT, Race Inc., Schwinn, Torker, Powerlite, Kawasaki, Matthews and more – all contributed by private collectors.
New Additions to the Museum: A replica BMX starting gate diorama in progress. A retro bicycle shop display that is coming soon! This is a must-see for BMX enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
