For years, I suffered from social anxiety without access to good resources or guidance. I had to take an experimental approach to overcome the barriers created by my own mind.
Through years of battling, pushing beyond my comfort zone, and ultimately accepting myself along with the anxiety that arises in my experience, I have reached a point where social anxiety no longer dictates my life.
I wish I could tell people it's an easy journey—expose yourself to the situations you fear or meditate long enough, and the anxiety will vanish. However, coming to accept your anxiety and building confidence takes a holistic approach. It involves improving every aspect of your life, from health and relationships to cultivating a sense of purpose.
Analyzing the mechanisms of your mind, living amidst chaos, and becoming mindful of what's happening in your body—all contribute to developing the resilience needed to cope with the pain of social anxiety.
In this episode, I'll discuss all these aspects and provide practical steps on how to work towards becoming a person who is no longer captive to the shackles of social anxiety.
