A Resurrected and Redeeming Servant

Isaiah 53:7-12
The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead signifies the greatest of triumphs over the greatest of enemies. However, it is a victory comes at a great cost: Jesus taking on the greatest suffering and most ignominious death in our place on the cross. The most amazing thing is that it was both God the Father and Jesus the Son's will to undertake this tragic but triumphant sacrifice in order that sinners like us might be rescued and redeemed. That's is the great news of Easter, and it was predicted and proclaimed in accurate detail more than 700 years before the events by the prophet Isaiah in the fourth of his servant songs. This Resurrection Sunday we behold God's resurrected and redeeming Servant and rejoice in Jesus' triumph over the grave for you and me.
