The Lord created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day.  God has given you a day of remembrance to delight in all the things He has done on your behalf.  Reading was adapted by Daniela Larson from Kiddush, a Jewish ceremony of prayer and blessing that ushers in the Sabbath. On Friday night, when the Sabbath begins, the Kiddush ceremony is carried out before sitting down for the Sabbath meal.
