Game Setup



Last time with Arjan Ghaleson: The heroes fought their way into the Temple of Paladine, in the City of Lost Names called Onyari, and discovered an altar bearing the symbol of the god Paladine within the Chancel. As he approached the altar, the dragon sculptures surrounding it gave Arjan the distinct impression that they were watching him. As Arjan approached the altar, a column of dim light rose from it, and he took the Knight Zanas Sarlamir’s distinctive head of a rusty spear, all that remains of a once mighty Dragonlance, and gently laid it upon the altar. The lance shone with a silvery glow. The rust covering the lance bubbled and leaked a dark liquid that flowed away from the altar and disappeared. At the same time, the spear lengthened, growing into a whole, newly forged, pike-length dragonlance. The silvery glow enveloped Arjan, and the world he knew fell away.

Welcome to another DragonLance Saga review episode. It is Misham, Fleurgreen the 30th. My name is Adam and today I am going to give you my review of The Companions by Tina Daniell. What a strange beginning to the novel. We jump right into the thick of it mid adventure, as Tasslehoff, Caramon, and Sturm are sailing to Abanasinia from Southern Ergoth after having purchased some crushed Jalopwort from a minotaur herbalist named Argots. We later learn that this minotaur was on his way out of town for some reason, and was killed before he could leave the island! But as the companions are sailing back to mainland on the Venora, a midsized sloop, Caramon is drinking and swapping stories with the sailors, Sturm is brooding mysteriously on deck and Tas is writing a letter to Raistlin. He had been given? a magic bottle he hopes to send the letter to Rasitlin with. As he describes the event, he notices a massive storm quickly gathering and coming straight at them. 



Sturm goes to find Caramon who is unconscious on deck when the storm hits. Sailors are actually abandoning ship as lightning strikes the mast, and then Sturm is knocked out by the Captain! Tas hurries and finishes the letter, grabs his pouches then looks for his companions only to find Captain Murloch who knocks him out, and ties them all to the mast before diving overboard himself. This is very odd behavior for sailors and a captain. Then the captain witnesses the ship become enveloped by the storm, lifted into the air and disappears. Undeterred, the captain starts swimming for sure, but is attacked by a swarm of bees and killed. His body will wash up on shore eventually.



The magic bottle holding Tas’ note to Raist is found by a wandering merchant who delivers it to Raist. Raistlin collects Tanis and Flint and meets them at Crystalmire Lake where they see a magical miniature image of Tas reading his story of the purchase of the spell components and the storm as they are sailing into.

Welcome to another DragonLance Saga episode. My name is Adam and today we are going to talk about The Blue Lady’s War. Discussion



Kitiara Uth Matar was the most powerful Dragon Highlord in her time. She commanded total devotion from her soldiers as she took care to treat them better and pay them on time, in contrast to her peers. Kitiara had total respect and cooperation from her dragon mount, Khellendros, known as Skie, and she alone captured the attention of the Death Knight Lord Soth, and for a time, bent him to her will. With his aid she claimed the Crown of Power, the Miceram, from Tanis Half-Elven at the end of the War of the Lance, and used it to unify the disparate and broken forces of the Dark Queen in three hundred and fifty three Alt Cataclius. At the end of the War of the Lance, she alone held the Dragon Queen's favor, though it was from banishment in the Abyss, thanks to her half-brothers and the Heroes of the Lance.  



With a Flying Citadel, a reunited army, a Death Knight and his minions, and her Blue Dragon nothing seemed to stand in her way from accomplishing what Ariakas could not–domination of Ansalon in this post war era. It would only take her five years to mount an assault on Palanthas, one of the few locations in Ansalon no one ever expected a successful attack to be made in, as it was protected by the Vingaard Mountains and the High Clerist’s Tower. What Kitiara was unable to see was that she was merely a pawn in a number of schemes, whose ambitions were even greater and in direct contrast with her own. 



First, her half brother Raistlin Majere, the most powerful magi on Krynn, was planning to confront and overthrow Takhisis herself. Second, Raistlin’s hubris led him to inform Dalamar the Dark, his apprentice, who was spying on him for the Orders of High Sorcery. And third and most devastatingly, Lord Soth wanted Kitiara for his own… and not alive. Kitiara’s most trusted commander, Lord Soth, actively worked against her in her schemes, sealing her fate. When Raistlin told Kitiara about his plans, she couldn’t believe it. She was sure he would fail, and she wanted to use his magic on her behalf. Lord Soth convinced Kitiara that she could stop him by destroying Lady Crysania, Raistlin’s key to entering the Abyss. She sent Lord Soth to kill her, and if it weren't for the god Paladine’s direct interference, he would have succeeded. 



Lady Crysania’s corpse was delivered to the Tower of High Sorcery in Wayreth and sent back in time to be resurrected by the Kingpriest himself. But Lord Soth was not content in defeat. As Kitiara was forging an alliance with Dalamar to stop Raistlin, and potentially use him in her coming conflict,

Welcome to another DragonLance Creators episode. My name is Adam, and today I want to officially make a call for submissions. You see, Dragonlance is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year. And while March 1984 saw the first releases in the Dragonlance campaign setting in the form of the Dragon Magazine #83 short story The Test of the Twins by Margaret Weis, and the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons adventure DL1 Dragons of Despair by Tracy Hickman, I believe the novel’s release was most people’s first experience with the Heroes of the Lance and the campaign setting of Dragonlance.



I would like to take a moment and thank the DLSaga members, and invite you to consider becoming a member by visiting the link in the description below.
