A Slice Of Golf - Golf From The Viewpoint Of 3 Average Golfers

You're standing over the ball and you are just thinking... "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING!"... It's like you've forgotten how to swing the club. It's the round from hell. Tops, shanks, thin, slice, hook... no matter what you do it's a disaster.

We've all been there and it's an awful place to be. Utterly demoralising and your golf morale plummets. What do we think we should do when this moment happens?

• Ben breaks 80 (0:25)
• Tim sneaks out for a secret round (8:33)
• Chris makes a MAJOR change 6 days before their first major of the year (16:29)
• PGA Tour - RBC Heritage - Stewart Cink, Si Woo Kim (24:58)
• European Tour - 5 hole playoff (37:49)

We take a moment to reflect on that Masters, before moving on to this weeks RBC Heritage. Just how good was Zalatoris... our hype train now appears to be well justified! We actually got something right for once.

Now onto the RBC Heritage....137 players taking the field this week and a stronger field than normal it seems!  Zalatoris is now appropriately priced and Chris goes looking for his next bargain pick...

An LPGA player got fined for slow play... that fine was 64% of her years' earnings so far... Is that fair? We talk about bringing in the shot clock and what punishments would be better and would actually speed up play!

Oh also, there's a small tournament on this week.... THE MASTERS!!

• Did the LPGA learn from last years ANA Inspiration? (14:56)
• Player fined 64% of years earnings for slow play... surely there is a better way? (20:00)
• Spieth is BACK! (47:06)
• Bryson warming up for the Masters (57:31)
• Our picks for The Masters (59:45)

The rules were simple... £500 per person to cover travel, food, beer, accommodation and of course, the golf, for 3 days. Here is what we came up with...

We wanted to steer away from the classic resorts and go find other courses on these trips. We know full well you can easily find  3 day trips to some lovely resorts for under £500, but we wanted something a bit different.

We are thinking about going on a trip and documenting it... the travel, the golf, the beer etc and perhaps showcasing courses that aren't always on the youtube.

So help us pick... whose trip do you like the sound of most?  Tweet us @asliceofgolfpod and let us know.

Want to skip straight to the chat about the trips -> 22:46

The worlds top 64 players battle it out, matchplay over the course of 5 days!! Group stages start on Wednesday, with one player from each group of 4 making it through to the weekend knockout rounds.

A different format, with different scoring opportunities on DraftKings... who will make our teams this week?
