Reed Morrison, a retired psychologist, spent three years at Johns Hopkins University specializing in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. Today he consults, mentors, lectures and writes. Reed talks about concepts and methods for navigating a life journey directed by an "inner life" -- and what an inner life means. He discusses why he decided to write a new book aimed at his grandson. After becoming a grandparent he saw the importance of a transmittable legacy of life -- guidance from a grandparent mentorship for anyone. Robin Aisha Landsong, born in the US, was abducted and drugged at eight years old. When she woke up she gradually realized she had been abandoned in Rhodesia, Africa at the height of its 1977 civil war. She survived two near-death experiences, including a gunshot wound to the head, and was briefly adopted by a local family. Robin's astonishing story, told in her new book Loving Bravely, is one of resilience and determination to face trauma, survive, and thrive.

Long after returning to the US, Robin spent years seeking the location where she had lived in Africa, searching for survivors of the black family that discovered a dying white child and adopted her.

Today Robin is a Transformational Speaker, Visual Artist, Medicine Singer, and Medical/Health Intuitive. Her specialties as a Craniosacral Therapist are trauma resolution, the neurobiology of connection, and restoring the natural rhythms in the body.

She shares her story and numerous insights on today's show.

Gina Waldman shares how she became a lifelong human rights activist. Born in Libya, she fled with her family in 1967 with only $20.

Gina is a living example of how one person can make a difference in the world. She uses passive resistance and civil disobedience in a peaceful and respectful way. She shares stories of the hardships of being a jew in an Arab country, and how she helped many people leave their country for a better life. She was instrumental in winning freedom for thousands of Soviet Jews, some of which she shares with us today.

Gina speaks 5 languages and has traveled through the world helping others. Her over 30 years of this work include numerous accomplishments, from testifying before the United Nations and US Congress on Human Rights to receiving the Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award.

Today we’re joined by Marc Scott and David Levitt, who discuss their unique perspectives on race and integration in America, as well as racial trauma and healing.

Marc Scott developed and ran a drug and alcohol recovery home for 28 years — one of the first of its kind. His parents had a kind of a mixed marriage, since while his mother was mostly white and appeared to be Caucasian, in the 1950s the “one drop” rule subjected both her and her black husband to strict segregation, especially in the South.

Dr. David Levitt, a computer scientist and technology innovator, was the son of 1960s civil rights activists. In the 50s, the marriage of his white father and black mother had been illegal in 28 states. Growing up, Mark and David often found themselves the only black or mixed person in sight.

Mark and David discuss their unique experiences and how race has affected their lives — from racial trauma and healing to the tremendous, joyous changes happening today.
