Petra is a music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band". Formed in 1972, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock".

Greg X. Volz began his music career in a band called "Gideon's Bible", then all the members got born again on the same night and changed their name to "e band", in 1976 Petra called Greg to ask him to be a guest vocalist on the album "Come and join us" which he did, for the next 9 records until 1985 when at the peak of Petra's success he left the group.  He was replaced by John Schlitt. he then went on to record several solo albums and is currently the frontman for CPR (Classic Petra revival). Greg is writing book about his life to be released in 2021 or 2022.

Yet GOD brought her thru it all and she now has a ministry to women in prison.

Chuck Girard is a pioneer of Contemporary Christian music.  He was born on August 27, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. He moved to Santa Rosa, California in his young teens and was a member of the Castells and later the surf-rock band The Hondells. In 1970 he was a founding member of Love Song, the first Christian rock band to become popular in the United States

Journeyman guitarist, songwriter and producer Tom Hemby is longtime Nashville backing and session musician who also sustains his own solo career. Born in Missouri, Hemby got his start touring with numerous artists including Amy Grant, the Imperials and others. In 1978, he settled in Nashville and found studio work recording with an ever-expanding list of musicians that, over the years, has included everyone from Vince Gill, Glen Campbell and Kenny Loggins to Bebe & CeCe Winans and Peter Cetera.

Bill Maxwell was a member of the Third Avenue Blues Band, whose album was produced by T-Bone Burnett in 1969.  He moved to Los Angeles in 1972 as a member of Andraé Crouch and the Disciples, and has produced 8 Grammy-winning recordings for The Winans, Andraé Crouch, and others. He produced ALL of Keith Green's records, Maxwell also formed the jazz group "Koinonia" with his friend Abraham Laboriel.
