Betty Ann Wagner was 14, and her sister, Juanita, was 11. In a telephone interview yesterday, Betty Ann Wagner, who now lives in Burbank, Calif. - her sister, Juanita Wagner Hiltgen, lives in Redlands, Calif. - recalled the events that have heaped significance on an innocent exchange of correspondence.

The Wagners, whose home was on a farm in Danville,Iowa started the pen-pal mail at the suggestion of a teacher who had visited peacetime Europe in the summer of 1939 and collected the names of children her students might write to. here is that radio interview with Foster Braun.

Doris Day, Actress and singer passed away at age 97 of Pneumonia in Carmel, California.  Doris had an amazing career playing the girl next door and singing big band songs like "Sentimental journey". she is considered a staple of the classic film, a star of the silver screen. she won the Cecil B. Demille award in 1989 for her amazing contribution to great films. we have found four interviews with Doris Day, two have been heard before but the two phone interviews are being heard here for the very first time. thanks to the Shirley Eder archives.

Bob and Jayne Farrell met during high school in Lubbock, TX in 1967, and sang together from the very first.  Bob had a popular band that played in West Texas for fraternity parties and proms - Jayne would sing Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, and Aretha Franklin favorites - Bob would cover the songs of The Beatles, Steppenwolf, and many other late 60’s pop bands.  "It was during the ‘Jesus Movement’ of the early 70’s that the seeds of what would become Farrell & Farrell were sown. In 1977 ‘Farrell & Farrell’ first single “Earthmaker”, went to #1 on Christian radio."

Since ‘91 Bob has been writing songs for a long list of pop, Christian, and country artists, as well as penning songs for national ads, film, and tv.

Currently Bob continues to write music and does some touring as the show director of his compositions: Saviour, A Modern Oratorio; and HERO, The Rock Opera.  He is currently writing book manuscripts, and is about to launch a My Manifesto blog while self-publishing his books on Amazon.

Bob and Jayne have lived in Nashville since 1983 - they have two daughters and four grandsons.

todays show Foster Braun initerviews Randy Matthews who was a Christian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pioneer of Jesus music. He was born into a family with at least five ordained ministers, including his father, Monty, a founding member of the Jordanaires. When Matthews was in high school in Lamar, Mo., he sang in a quartet called The Zionaires, which was also founded by his father. signed to WORD records in 1971, he back the first contemporary music performer of Christian themed lyrics. he later left the industry.
