Strength is not well like in America, not real strength anyway. No one likes a downer. Everyone loves a joker. This is an observable fact about American politics. Crack a few jokes about grabbing women by their privates and you could be the next president. Leak some information about Dave Chapelle's next comedy special and your ass is out the door. That is just the way America is. So it takes a really strong person to stand up for what they know is right, what they know to be the truth. But people hate the truth and they hate the strength that it takes to tell the truth. It makes them feel weak, insecure and fragile. People do not like to feel this way; they do not like to be "judged" as they would most likely put it. After all, it is not their fault; nothing is ever anyone's fault anymore. We live in a childish age where responsibility is always thrown upon some daddy figure; that daddy figure could be Donald Trump or it could be Joe Biden. It does not really matter who the daddy figure is at the time; the point is no one is ever willing to stand up for what they believe in on their own. They need some celebrity or political figure or religious guru to do that part for them. This is why when you go on social media all you ever hear are the same arguments being parroted from the various network talking heads; the network in question could be Netflix or it could be Fox News (again, it does not matter who you are parroting; the point is that you are parroting). In this muddled world of mudslinging where people do not even bring their own mud to sling, but lease it from popular commentators, the humanity of people is completely lost. Because the humanity is lost, originality becomes scarce. Everyone is too afraid of being too politically correct. Everyone is equally afraid of being too extreme. So, on both the left and the right you are left with cowardice, a bunch of people who really stand for nothing. In this increasingly neutral world it is difficult to tell where anyone stands anymore. One day they are on the right, the next day they are on the left, and, on days where centrists senators derail legislation, people magically end up in the middle. Can we really trust people who so easily flip from one side to the other if they do not even stand for anything at all? Our politics is now essentially a fast food value menu. Everything is cheap so you can have it your way. A far right corporate darling like Joe Manchin, who happens to think abortion is wrong by the way, is "moderate". A company like Netflix, which has contracts with the Sharia law promoting nation of Saudi Arabia is considered a safe haven for "progressives". Dave Chapelle, who was pretty liberal when I was growing up, is now a hero for conservatives because of his hatred for what he and the right have termed "cancel culture". Where does this redefinition of words ever end? Why are people just allowed to go around pretending to stand for causes while at the same time actively working against those causes for profit? Some will blame it on capitalism, but I am not so sure about that. I think that playing both sides of the aisle has become synonymous with being political in America. Being political in America now means being "politically incorrect" and being "politically incorrect" means employing Orwell's concept of double think, the acceptance of or mental capacity to accept contrary opinions or beliefs at the same time, especially as a result of political indoctrination. Contrariness has nothing to do with strength of course; it is, indeed, the epitome of weakness. I cannot be weak enough to dine with Saudi kings on Friday while lunching with the LGBTQIA community on Saturday. I cannot be weak enough to destroy climate justice while taking campaign donations from climate activists. I cannot be weak enough to hide behind the fact that I am comedian after spewing hate at my adoring fans. I have a strong voice and a strong voice attracts and repels.
