Matthew 5:1-2 NLT

1 One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him, 2 and he began to teach them.

Matthew 5:3 NLT

“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Matthew 5:4 NLT

God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 NLT

1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Matthew 5:5 NLT

God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.

Psalms 37:11 NLT

The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.

Matthew 5:6 NLT

God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.

Psalms 37:16-19 NLT

16 It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich. 17 For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the LORD takes care of the godly. 18 Day by day the LORD takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. 19 They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.

Matthew 5:7 NLT

God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

James 2:13 NLT

There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.

Matthew 5:9 NLT

God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:10-12 NLT

10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. 11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

Matthew 10:21-22 NLT

21 “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. 22 And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved.
