In Made in SG, Melanie Oliveiro finds out about the locally-staged and produced play, ‘Lotus Root Support Group’ - the first Singaporean theatre play about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), an endocrine disorder that affects anywhere between 4 to 21 percent of women worldwide. She discusses the play with Miriam Cheong and Shannen Tan, the Writer-Performer duo, on how this year’s show is distinctively different from the previous iteration. Cheong and Tan also explains how the play aims to shed some light on the lived PCOS experiences of these two artists as well as the ups and downs of their friendship.
