A Sure Hope

As Pastor Dave will illustrate in today’s message, your works can never be enough to earn your position in God’s Kingdom. The debt of sin that each of us is born into is far too great to repay through deeds. Only when you place your faith in Jesus and trust that He is enough to save you, can you enter into His Kingdom.

If only we were so dedicated to prayer… how much different would your life look if you spent so much time on your knees that they grew swollen and calloused? As Pastor Dave will challenge us in today’s message, prayer is an immense privilege - don’t neglect it as you follow Jesus in this broken world.

If Jesus fulfilled the Law, why do we need it still? Can we just throw it all out? As Pastor Dave continues our study of the book of Acts in today’s message, he’ll point out that the Law is still helpful for us. It reveals our need for a Savior. It acts as a mirror to hold up to your life and see your areas of weakness.

A slave is bound by his master, kept down by the things that are binding him, based on the rules of his master. But today, you get to hear Pastor Dave talk about being free, not being a slave. It’s so liberating - to realize that God’s salvation through grace is what saves you. You don’t have to earn it or work to make up for a wrongdoing.

Ouch… that would hurt to have those words directed towards you by Jesus. He basically told the scribes and Pharisees that while they looked nice, they were full of decaying corpses. In today’s message, Pastor Dave will challenge us to examine our hearts for signs of life - do our thoughts and motivations glorify our Savior?

Do you live a life of joy that God’s given you through salvation? Today, Pastor Dave expresses a distaste for believers who are caught up in legalism, trying to force others to abide by rules or convictions that aren’t something that Jesus exemplified. Today, choose to live in joy, and be released from the burden of rules!

An established neighborhood has mature trees that have been there for years, enduring the elements of the weather and seasons. Is your faith like a strong tree, holding resolute against the storms and the swaying culture and systems? Today, Pastor Dave encourages you to stand strong and steadfast for the Lord.

Isn’t it human nature to look at the waves around you, and before you know if, you’re sinking and pummeled by the surf? Today, Pastor Dave is asking you to keep your eyes, your gaze, your focus, solely on God. He’s there with you in the storms and trials of life. He’s there to rescue you, but maintain eye contact!

We all have a decision to make. How will we respond to the Gospel message? Today, Pastor Dave presses us with the question, “What will we do with Jesus Christ?” Salvation is given only in the name of Jesus. There is no more important decision for us in this life. How we choose - will determine our eternal destiny.

Don’t miss Jesus. In Pastor Dave’s message today, he emphasizes the importance of heeding the words of the prophets and the proof of the resurrection. The Bible contains all the evidence that Jesus is the Christ. The proof is right before our eyes if we would only look into the Word of God. Believe in Jesus today!
