God honors humble, repentant hearts. Even in David’s time, God’s forgiveness depended on His grace – the sacrifices were just placeholders for the coming Christ. Think of a memorable church camp when you were younger. Or maybe a meaningful retreat with your church. These experiences leave their mark – in a good way. Sometimes God’s will is confusing and utterly different from what we expect or want. David made some serious mistakes but had patience and humility as he followed God’s plan for his life.
