A Sure Hope

In today’s edition of “A Sure Hope,” Pastor Dave continues comparing the life of believers and non-believers. The lives of non-believers seem to focus on self. Self-image, self-improvement, self-identifying. Whereas the Christian life is called to bring Jesus into the equation and let Him work on you.

When you think of how commonplace sin is in our world, it can be pretty daunting to try and think of ways to avoid it. But in today’s message, Pastor Dave speaks about how if we remain in Jesus; he will help us fight off the temptations of sin. What a relief, huh? None of us would be able to fight off sin on our own!

Have you ever seen someone you loved commit a sin? It could be a family member, or maybe a close friend. In today’s message, Pastor Dave explains that we’re actually called to be “intercessors” for them. We’re supposed to help them overcome their sin and support their repentance! The same way Jesus did!

In today’s message, Pastor Dave starts his discussion about the “sin that leads to death,” and what it actually is! When we think of death, we normally think of it in the physical sense, but today; Pastor Dave explains spiritual death and hunts for the exact sin that John writes about that always leads someone to it!

Have you ever had to wait for something you wanted? Everyone has! In today’s message, Pastor Dave explains that even if we ask for something from God, and don’t see results right away; we are actually promised that we will still see something eventually if the thing we asked for is in God’s will.

In today’s message, Pastor Dave speaks more about “Blessed Assurances”. One of them is the ability to not only go to The Lord with a request but to do it boldly. And the best part is that we’re told that He listens! And, that he will give you what you want as long as it’s in accordance with his will!

It’s hard to put your full trust into something without knowing what comes with it. We like to follow things that come with a promise we know will never be broken. Today, Pastor Dave wants you to know that Jesus died on the cross to take away your sins and give you the assurance of eternal life if you believe in Him.

Do you ever feel like no matter how much you search for happiness, you never find it? Today, Pastor Dave wants you to know that the only way to find true sustenance and happiness in life is through Jesus. He came onto earth as a man to take our sins and give us the assurance that we can have eternal life through Him.

In the world around us, we are often bombarded with many conflicting ideas about who Jesus was. Some say that he was just a man, others say that he was some kind of “superhero.” In today’s message, Pastor Dave explains how we are assured that Jesus is who he says he is: God incarnate and the Word among us.

As Christians, it’s easy to forget that we are given assurances and certainties guaranteed through Jesus. Today, Pastor Dave wants you to know that we can live each day with the promise of eternal life in Heaven. Be assured through Jesus and follow the One who became human to feel our pain and carry the burdens of our sin.
