How are you going to bow before Jesus? Will it be with joy and gratitude or fear and trembling after a life of rejecting Him? As Pastor Dave will point out in today’s message, Scripture makes it clear that all mankind will bow before Jesus in the end. The nature of that act of submission is up to you.

As Pastor Dave will challenge us in today’s message, it’s time to go beyond just singing these words to living them out.

It’s amazing how easily we can justify and excuse our own sin while standing in condemnation against the same sin in others. As Pastor Dave will remind us in today’s message, there’s no hierarchy of sin – all sins are equally offensive against God. Thankfully, His grace and mercy are also equally available to all of us. 

How often do you have conversations with God? Remember, a conversation isn’t the same as a monologue. As Pastor Dave continues our study of the book of Psalms today, he’ll remind us that prayer is more than just talking to God. You need to dedicate time to listening for His quiet voice of guidance.

Do you have that kind of confidence? If not, you can. We respect and revere David as the apple of God’s eye and one of the greatest figures in the Bible. But he was just a shepherd boy. As Pastor Dave will encourage us in today’s message, we have access to the same confidence when we place our faith in Jesus.

What do you spend your energy and time seeking after? Many of us might claim to seek truth, but if that truth starts to offend us in some way, we may embrace compromise. As Pastor Dave will point out in today’s message, seeking out the truth of God doesn’t always feel good, but it’s essential as we follow Jesus.

Have you ever found yourself alone on a walk in the woods or an unfamiliar city and had a sense of fear and isolation overwhelm you? In that moment, having a friend with you would completely change the experience. As Pastor Dave will remind us in today’s message, God is always with us as a guide and comforter in this dark world.

It’s not hard to find things to lament over in our world. As Pastor Dave explains, the Psalms of Lament we’ll examine in today’s message are concerned with communal issues, as well as individual struggles. God invites us to bring our complaints before Him, acknowledging that He is sovereign and can lift us from oppression.
