What do you notice about houses that are close to the water? Typically, they are on stilts and don’t have a basement. The builders knew they’d have to use the proper foundation in the event of flooding! Today, Pastor Dave will ask you what your foundation is. Will it keep you standing when the floods come?

Some things in life don’t make sense… like why snowflakes are so geometric, or why platypuses are considered mammals when they lay eggs. In today’s message, Pastor Dave teaches that when life isn’t making sense, don’t let it get you down. Instead, put your faith in God, Who knows exactly what it all means.

While the rainbow has been misused as a symbol of identity rooted in rebellion against God’s design, it was created as a symbol of God’s grace. As Pastor Dave will point out in today’s message, God does not love wrath or judgment. He loves us and has withheld His wrath, allowing time for His Creation to return to Him.

Think of the most permanent things we know of in this world…a mountain? It’s a solid, immovable rock that appears to have been there forever. But, as Pastor Dave will point out in today’s message, God is sovereign and eternal, and He was here before that rock, and will reign forever, long after that rock becomes dust.

We don’t have the luxury of biding our time as followers of Jesus; we have a job to do. Jesus commissioned His disciples to go to the ends of the earth. That was a monumental task at that time. As Pastor Dave will remind us today, we need to be actively and unceasingly sharing the Gospel with our world.

God’s apparent inaction is not an endorsement of our behavior as humans. We only see it as inaction. In reality, He’s tirelessly working behind the scenes. As Pastor Dave will remind us in today’s message, God is actively orchestrating the necessary events leading to the return of His Son, Jesus Christ. 

In our human state, we’re incapable of comprehending the incredible love of God. So often we interpret His correction as anger, but He’s only angry over what sin has done to His beloved creation. Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to embrace His guidance and know that He speaks to your heart in love. 

Honesty is crucial in the lives of believers. As Pastor Dave will explain in today’s message, when we’re in a dangerous or unhealthy place in our faith journey, we should want to know about it. We can quickly find ourselves falling back into destructive ways if we ignore God’s voice of guidance.

Jesus often leads His followers into unexpected and even dangerous situations and places. These trials are opportunities to trust in Him and grow in our faith. As Pastor Dave will encourage us in today’s message, we shouldn’t let fear keep us from stepping into God’s will for us – it will be challenging, but good.

We don’t always like truth as humans. Truth often exposes our weaknesses and failures. As Pastor Dave continues our study in the book of Revelation today, we’ll be reminded that God is truth. He’s the foundation it’s built on, and He alone has the power to determine what is truth and what is not.
