Transcription:

Kelly Molson: Hey, everyone. It's just me today, which kind of feels a bit strange. It's like I'm talking to myself because I don't have a guest with me. In the spirit of the show, I did ask Paul, my Rubber Cheese Co-Founder, to come on and ask me a few quick-fire questions. I thought it was only fair after catching so many of you out with them. So this is how it went.

Kelly Molson: I'm slightly nervous about what you're going to ask me?

Paul Wright: Why?

Kelly Molson: I'm not used to being on the other side of these questions. And I know that you've got a slightly warped sense of humour. So be kind.

Paul Wright: I've kind of been kind.

Kelly Molson: Fire away.

Paul Wright: If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or into the future? And where would you go?

Kelly Molson: Right. I thought back immediately. So I'm going to stick with back. I don't know that I want to know my future. I think that's more terrifying. Yeah, I don't want to know what's coming. But I would go back and albeit there'll be a risk of being eaten, I'd definitely go back to dinosaur times. Because I proper would love to see a real-life actual dinosaur.

Paul Wright: You'd live in a cave.

Kelly Molson: Maybe, I would live in a cave. Yeah. I think I'm quite hardy. As long as I could have some soft bedding.

Paul Wright: You'd be there three weeks.

Kelly Molson: Three weeks.

Paul Wright: Would you think you could survive or thrive?

Kelly Molson: I feel like I could survive. But I don't know about thrive. What would that even mean? What would that even mean? I think honestly if you are back in those times, surrounded by a human eating dinosaur, surviving is probably the best you could hope for.

Paul Wright: Next question. The zombie apocalypse is coming, who are three people you'd want in your team?

Kelly Molson: Oh, this is a great question. Three people, I'd want in my team. Okay. Zombie apocalypse is coming. What kills zombies? I probably would pick you.

Paul Wright: Thanks.

Kelly Molson: Welcome. You're very practical, you're really good at building stuff. You're good with woodwork, you can make things. I feel like that would be a good skill that we'd probably need to stay alive.

Paul Wright: I thought you were going to say, it's because I'm hard. And you'd say, I could stab someone in the head.

Kelly Molson: No, that's not where I was going at all, I was thinking more of practicality. Sorry. Do you feel bad about that?

Paul Wright: No, I think you're banging on.

Kelly Molson: Good. Okay. I think I'd pick Sandra Bullock.

Paul Wright: Sandra ...

Kelly Molson: Yeah. Sorry. She just popped ... Did you watch that film that she was in, Bird Box?

Paul Wright: Is that the one where if she opens her eyes, she sees stuff?

Kelly Molson: Yeah. She got through that. I reckon she could get me for a zombie apocalypse. Also, she's pretty incredible. So that's you and her. That's quite a good duo. Maybe someone like Freddie Flintoff.

Paul Wright: Yeah, that's a good choice.

Kelly Molson: He's quite funny, but also he's quite big, isn't he? I don't know why ... I've got like, I need someone that's a bit stocky. I'm five-two, I feel like I need someone that could be tall and reach things and he can throw well as well, right? He can throw stuff.

Paul Wright: Yeah. I think he would be up for stabbing zombies in the head.

Kelly Molson: Yeah. And you'd have a laugh while you were doing it. Maybe a beer.

Paul Wright: Yeah. He'd probably find it quite fun, wouldn't he?

Kelly Molson: I think that's a good team.

Paul Wright: So to recap, it's me, Sandra Bullock, and Freddie Flintoff.

Kelly Molson: Yeah. It's a great team.

Paul Wright: Great.

Kelly Molson: Hope they're up for it. Is that my questions?

Paul Wright: That's it.

Kelly Molson: Thanks for your podcast contribution.

Paul Wright: Hey, no problem. Anytime.

Kelly Molson: Maybe that serves as a slice of revenge for some of you. It's been really fun working on this podcast. We have learned so much from all of our amazing guests, about them, about their roles, and about the sector as a whole.

Kelly Molson: The show has reached nearly 3000 downloads and we get around 150 downloads per episode, which is mad. I can't believe how many people are actually listening to it. So thank you. And we've gone global. We have people listening to the podcast all around the world.

Kelly Molson: Guests have given up their valuable time and insight, mostly during a global pandemic that's been far from easy for anyone. I want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to each and every one of our guests, and to each and every one of our listeners. We're so humbled that you're enjoying the episodes and that you keep tuning back in.

Kelly Molson: Our hope is this podcast brings you a little smile and it also delivers you learnings that you can implement to make a positive difference in whatever you're doing.

Kelly Molson: If there is a burning topic that you'd like us to cover or something that you think that we can improve or even someone you think would make a really great podcast guest, send me an email. If you send it to [email protected], then we can have a chat. I'd really, really love to hear your input on this podcast to make it as best as we possibly can.

Kelly Molson: On that note, there's a couple of things that I really want to highlight. One of our recent guests, Simon Jones, MD of Digital Visitor, spoke at the Visitor Attractions Conference. And I joined him in the Your Website Is Your Brand section. If you missed out on attending, you can watch my talk over on our YouTube channel. And we'll link to Simon's in the show notes of this episode too. Both talks offer a load of practical tips on improving your website. Because let's face it, your website has never been more important than it is right now.

Kelly Molson: Then there's our free ebook, The Ultimate Guide To Doubling Your Visitor Numbers. Yeah, I know, it is a pretty unfortunate name. But it was conceived pre-COVID in our defense. But look, it's full of digital strategies that you can implement to help generate more revenue from existing audiences. And yes, to help you get more guests through the door. Eventually. There's a link to this in the show notes too, or you can find it by visiting rubbercheese.com/visitor-attractions.

Kelly Molson: As this platform begins to gain a larger audience, I've been thinking about ways that we can help the sector even more and use it for a purpose of good. In the new year, we'll be starting a mini 10-minute interview series with people in the sector that really, really need help right now. Maybe you've been made redundant. Maybe you can come on and showcase what you can do. Maybe you need connecting to someone. Why don't you come on for a mini-interview? And let's see if we, and all the lovely listeners, can help you in some way.

Kelly Molson: These episodes will be published as usual and we'll share them across our social channels and our email marketing list. If you send me an email, if you're in a position where you need some help right now, let's have a chat and see what we can do. It's just [email protected].

Kelly Molson: We'll be back next week with our usual interview episode. But for now, thank you all for listening and sharing, and supporting Skip the Queue.
