In our second class, “The Role of the Guru,” we explored the deep connection between a guru and their disciples, emphasizing the protective nature of a guru like Babaji. A beautiful story from Gurgaon illustrates this: two grieving siblings, after losing their mother, were guided in a dream to seek the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. They eventually found an Ananda center, forming a new loving family and a spiritual path. We also heard about Malka, an elderly widow who, after a serious injury, experienced comforting guidance from Swami Kriyananda during a difficult moment, despite him being miles away. These remarkable stories strengthen our faith, but what truly matters are the practical teachings and techniques a guru provides. Through compassion and guidance, the guru helps us realize our divine nature and transforms our consciousness, working on our karmic challenges as we sleep.
