People sometimes ask us, “How do you manage to travel for so long and keep strong and centered?”

When we love God, He will play with us—sometimes by giving us the gift of a frigid winter, other times by coming to us as a guardian angel in overalls, but always by giving us His blessings.

We are living now in unstable, volatile times, but we can see this as either a misfortune or an opportunity.

There is an enlightening quote of the Dalai Lama’s that goes, “People should be loved and things should be used. Unfortunately today, things are loved and people are used.”

The new temple is beautiful beyond what we had even imagined, but now we might ask ourselves the deeper question, “Where does the true Temple of Light reside?”

Next week Ananda will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. We took possession of the land we now call Ananda Village on July 4, 1969.

Young or old, devotee or not, God gives us, each and every one, His love, acceptance, and support. If we try to do the same, we will help create a better, gentler world.

Ask yourself, “Why do I do this work? What aspect of my consciousness led me to choose it?” Use this bit of self-analysis to help you find and fulfill your dharma.

Caring about others during a time of personal difficulty is the hallmark of an expansive consciousness.
