Watching the US Festival on May 29th, 1983 affirmed my journey as a rock fan at the age of 8 years old. Up until this event the only images I had of my favorite rock stars was through magazines like Circus, Hit Parader, and others. This day changed everything. The crowd was massive with almost 700 thousand screaming heavy metal maniacs watching Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions, & The Mighty Van Halen. The Hook Rocks pays tribute to the Heavy Metal Day, the experience of watching from home, and how this single day did more for heavy metal and hard rock than anything else before and since then. Enjoy the episode!
