A Very Ood Family - A Doctor Who Podcast

Send a text

This week as we continue to count down the days until the release of Joy to the World - the Christmas special for 2024, we continue to dive into the world of underrated episodes of New Who.

Everyone hates sitting in a traffic jam but imagine being in a traffic jam so bad that it takes 6 years to travel 10 miles!!!  We aren't onboard for that, even if it is on a different planet!  This week we jump back to Tennant under the pen of RTD with the episode "Gridlock."

There's flying cars, kidnapping, a worldwide biological catastrophe, guns, cat people, love, and the legendary Face of Boe! What's not to love?

Is this one underrated, just right, or, overrated?  Tune in to find out...

Let us know what episodes you think are underrated that we should watch again!

As we continue to count down the days until the release of Joy to the World - the Christmas special for 2024, we thought it would be fun to have a look at some of the more underrated episodes of the modern Who era.  Episodes that we thought were actually quite good but they never seem to rate on anyones lists.

This week we are going back to the myth and legend that is Robin Hood in Robot of Sherwood.  Who doesn't love a story about a bunch of men running around in tights shooting bows and arrows whilst robbing from rich people and attempting to overthrow a corrupt royal and his evil enforcer?

Is this one underrated, just right, or, overrated?  Tune in to find out...

And we're back!!!

We've been enjoying a nice break but we missed you all and felt it was time to get back on the air with the launch of Season 5 of A Very Ood Family.

As we count down the days until the release of Joy to the World - the Christmas special for 2024, we thought it would be fun to have a look at some of the more underrated episodes of the modern Who era.  Episodes that we thought were actually quite good but they never seem to rate on anyones lists.

We kick this off with Night Terrors.  This episode is packed full of everything that makes for the stuff of nightmares for children all over the world (and some adults too).

Tune in as we chat about this episode and talk about what we do and don't like about it, and why we think that Night Terrors is definitely an underrated Who episode.

Let us know what episodes you think are underrated that we should watch again!

Season 1 of RTD2 is done and dusted as Empire of Death stormed onto our Disney+ screens.

We have mixed emotions and thoughts on this one.  What did you think?  Did it feel like a season finale?  Were enough questions answered?  Who is Mrs Frost?

One thing's for sure, this one will divide opinions for a long time to come!

What a ride! We are still reeling from this one.  So much packed into 1 little episode.  It had us on the edge of our seat from start to finish and we loved it!

It's the penultimate episode of season 1 of RTD2's new who and we can't wait for the finale next week.  Join us as we ride along in the car and talk about The Legend of Ruby Sunday

Oh. My. Bridgerton!

We don't think that love is a strong enough word for what Lilli and Jeff thought about this episode!  Sarah was enthralled as well but Judah wasn't sold on it.  Join us to hear our thoughts on Rogue.

This one had it all, action, drama, 17th Century English pomp and ceremony, death, bird people, flirting, romance, twists and turns and above all that... Jonathan Groff!

We had so much (possibly a little too much) fun recording this one.  Come and laugh along with us as we dissect the latest offering from the RTD2 era... Rogue

73 yards, 219 feet, 66.75 metres... however you measure it, we love it!

Preliminarily labelled as one of the best Doctor Who episodes not just of the new season, but of all time, we couldn't wait to see what RTD had in store for us this time.  We all agree that it didn't disappoint!

Is it the best episode of the season so far?  Is it up there with the best Who episodes ever?  This one had so much in it we wanted to discuss we had to split it over 2 episodes.  Ride along the 73 yard stretch as we talk about what we loved and what we didn't and everything in between!
