En: The day was cold, and the sky was overcast.

En: The Ljubljana Central Market was lively, as usual.

Sl: Ljudje so se sprehajali med stojnicami, kjer so prodajali svežo zelenjavo, domače medenjake in tople rokavice.
En: People strolled among the stands, where fresh vegetables, homemade gingerbread, and warm gloves were being sold.

Sl: Miha je bil nekoliko zmeden.
En: Miha was somewhat confused.

En: He had heard in the morning that the voting was near the market, so he thought he knew the way.

En: However, the heart of Ljubljana by the market was quite different from what he expected.

En: His eyes wandered among the colors on the stands, and his head was full of thoughts about how important it is to vote.

En: When he arrived at a large group of people standing in line, Miha firmly believed that they were all there to vote.

Sl: Brez pomisleka je stopil vanjo.
En: Without hesitation, he stepped into the line.

Sl: Mimoidoči so ga radovedno opazovali, vendar mu to ni vzelo poguma.
En: Passersby observed him curiously but that did not deter him.

En: Eventually, he noticed that people around him were speaking in different languages.

Sl: To ga je začelo skrbeti.
En: This started to worry him.

En: He discovered that he was standing among a group of tourists.

En: But it was too late to retreat unnoticed.

En: He blushed and wished he was anywhere else.

En: He decided to ask a nearby man for help.

En: He was too embarrassed to admit his mistake in front of the crowd of tourists.

En: But before he could carry out his plan, the tourists began asking him questions.

Sl: "Si ti naš vodič?
En: "Are you our guide?"

Sl: " je vprašal visok moški s Severne Evrope.
En: asked a tall man from Northern Europe.

En: Miha laughed to ease the stress.

Sl: Nato je, skoraj nehote, začel kratko govoriti o pomenu volitev in državljanske odgovornosti.
En: Then, almost involuntarily, he began to give a short speech about the importance of elections and civic responsibility.

Sl: "Vsak glas šteje," je rekel z iskrico v očeh, "in glasovanje je privilegij.
En: "Every vote counts," he said with a spark in his eyes, "and voting is a privilege."

Sl: "Turisti so ga navdušeno ploskali in fotografirali.
En: The tourists applauded enthusiastically and took photos.

Sl: Mislili so, da so del nečesa posebnega.
En: They thought they were part of something special.

Sl: Miha se ni mogel več sekirati.
En: Miha could no longer be bothered.

En: At that moment, Anže tapped him on the shoulder.

En: He smiled, with eyes full of tears from laughter.

Sl: "Hej Miha, glasovanje je tam preko," je rekel Anže in pokazal smer.
En: "Hey Miha, voting is over there," said Anže, pointing the way.

En: Miha thanked him and with a smile parted from his helpful tourists.

En: He learned that it's okay to make a small mistake now and then.

Sl: V tem nesoglasju je našel zabavo in občutek pripadnosti skupnosti.
En: In this mix-up, he found amusement and a sense of belonging to the community.

En: His journey to vote ended with a laugh, and as he looked back, he knew he could take joy in his little awkward moments.

En: As he turned in the right direction, he felt a warmth inside that gave him a sense of homeliness on a cold winter day.

Sl: Ljudje so še naprej vreli skozi tržnico, in Miha je znova spoznal dragocenost malega, nostalgičnega zmedenega trenutka sredi Ljubljane.
En: People continued to flow through the market, and Miha realized once more the preciousness of that small, nostalgic, confused moment in the heart of Ljubljana.
