The Gulf of St. Lawrence Aster is a small endangered species that's only found in a few places on the New Brunswick coast. Lewnanny describes the importance of preserving each and every species, no matter how small, because we can't predict what will happen when species like this aster are gone forever.

In the Tabusintac area, Lewnanny and Nature NB staff found something they'd never seen in the area before: a walrus skull. It's been centuries since live walruses were seen in New Brunswick, so the skull has been sent to the New Brunswick Museum for dating and preservation.

Lewnanny talks about the importance of salt marshes. This habitat acts like a nursery, providing countless species with an area to lay their eggs and raise their young. Salt marshes provide protection from storms, they provide food sources for many species, they help to mitigate the effects of extreme weather as a result of climate change, and so much more.
