Friendship with Jesus will put a target on your back. In our text for this weekend, Jesus warns His disciples that their association with Him will inevitably lead to hatred from the world. As with so much of what we’ve been studying in this series, Jesus was telling them these things to prepare them and equip them for what lay ahead. Nearly 2,000 years later, the world still hates the disciples of Jesus, and this passage still serves to prepare us and equip us for whatever may lie ahead.
