i have always been so impressed by the way sierra calabria teaches beginner band. she has a exciting, creative energy that inspires her students love music. this episode was such an amazing opportunity to hear about how her childhood inspired her to be the teacher she is today. she also tells us about the power music has for kids (and all of us) to give us confidence. “most of these students aren’t going to go on and become professional musicians, but they’re going to go on becoming people, and music is a tool to help them get through anything in life.” i’m so honored to have ms. calabria on the podcast and i hope you love this episode as much as i do!

diane nice, or as most kids know her, mrs. nice, truly lives up to her name as being one of the sweetest, most supportive teachers i have ever met. i’m sad i never got to have her as a student myself, but she has been a big mentor and friend for me as i gained interest in teaching and decided to go into elementary education! i can’t wait for you to see her beautiful heart and a contagious happy energy come through this episode, where we learn about her life and her teaching career. she shares all her advice and strategies for teachers, parents, and honestly, for everyone! i sincerely hope i can be teacher as radiant and loving as mrs. nice <3
