Abstract : Languages have a significant impact on mathematics learning, with visual languages and spoken languages in particular differing. In the presentation, opportunities and challenges in learning and teaching mathematics in sign language will be discussed. Furthermore, explanations of elementary geometry content are compared in spoken and sign language and special characteristics are addressed.
