What happened—and what I decided it meant—aren’t always the same thing.
This week, three very different conversations made me notice how quickly interpretation can begin to feel like a fact. In this A Window Into This Week, I’m looking at what can change when we pause long enough to ask what actually happened, what we know, what we’ve decided it means, and what else may still be here.

A philosophy-class question about the individual and society led Tina into a much more personal question: how do we know when a choice is really ours? This week's Window explores the voices we carry into our decisions - family, culture, fear, approval, security, belonging, and our own uncertainty - and what authenticity can look like when those influences are all present. The question to carry: when it comes time to choose, who gets the deciding vote?
A scattered Friday had Tina thinking about attention, unfinished things, and a pattern she had often called
procrastination. This week’s Window explores a different possibility: sometimes we do not put something off
because we cannot begin; sometimes we simply do not stop something else. The question becomes how we
give our attention in a way that allows what matters to be both lived and done.
A few ordinary phone calls made while preparing for A Spacious Life had Tina thinking about synchronicity — and about how little we know of what a simple reach-out may mean to someone else. This week’s Window also looks at what becomes visible when we get clearer about what is essential, important, and valuable, and how that clarity may help us make room for what matters.
A disagreement can feel like proof that something has gone wrong. But sometimes, once the heat settles, the friction reveals something that wasn’t visible before. This week, I look at an ordinary argument at home and wonders whether the more useful question is not whether conflict was good or bad, but what we choose to do with what it reveals.
This week, we are noticing the moments of fun, delight, and enjoyment that appear in ordinary life--sometimes in the smallest and most unexpected ways.
