Cs: Ve městě plném lesklých mrakodrapů a neonových světel žil Jirka, mladík s vášní pro technologie.
En: In a city full of shiny skyscrapers and neon lights lived Jirka, a young man with a passion for technology.
Cs: Jirka každé ráno sledoval nejnovější zprávy o technologických novinkách.
En: Every morning, Jirka would catch up on the latest news about technological innovations.
Cs: Teď měl v hlavě jedinou myšlenku: koupit nový high-tech gadget, který měl vyjít právě dnes.
En: He had only one thought in his head now: to buy the new high-tech gadget that was being released today.
Cs: Jeho sestřenice Radka, pragmatická a moudrá, ráda s Jurkem poznávala nová místa, ale technologie ji příliš nezajímaly.
En: His cousin Radka, pragmatic and wise, liked discovering new places with Jirka, but technology didn’t interest her much.
Cs: Radka měla na věci jiný pohled.
En: Radka had a different perspective on things.
Cs: "Jirko, ta věc je jistě skvělá, ale přesně víš, kolik peněz na ni máš ušetřeno?"

En: But with an uncomfortable feeling, he realized that he didn't have enough money for the new gadget.
Cs: "Radko, mohl bych si půjčit?
En: "Radka, could I borrow some?
Cs: Vrátím ti to hned po výplatě," řekl nesměle.
En: I’ll pay you back right after payday," he said timidly.
Cs: Radka zavrtěla hlavou, usmála se a odpověděla: "Víš, co si myslím.
En: Radka shook her head, smiled, and replied, "You know what I think.
Cs: Ráda tě podporuji, ale musíme myslet rozumně."
En: I love supporting you, but we need to think sensibly."
Cs: V tu chvíli Jirka zjistil, že gadget je dostupný v omezeném množství v obchodě na druhém konci města.
En: At that moment, Jirka found out that the gadget was available in limited quantities at a store on the other side of the city.
Cs: Srdce mu bušilo rychleji.
En: His heart was pounding faster.
Cs: Chápe, že čas je jeho nepřítel.
En: He understood that time was his enemy.
Cs: Musí se tam dostat co nejdříve!
En: He had to get there as soon as possible!
Cs: Radka, která si všimla jeho úzkosti, řekla: "Dobře, pomůžu ti.
En: Radka, noticing his anxiety, said, "Alright, I'll help you.
Cs: Zavezu tě tam autem, ale musíš mi slíbit, že se budeš lépe starat o své finance."
En: I'll drive you there, but you must promise me that you'll take better care of your finances."
