It takes one to write about one!
I also read from start to finish in one sitting. The story flowed so easily and I felt like I had just visited London myself by the time it ended. Such a tragic and emotional topic to take on, but Susanna manages to convey the depth of Sara's grief and despair, and makes us really route for her to find some way to make her life worth living. I didn't mean to read the whole thing at once as I got the book from the mail just as I was on my way out the door, but it caught me and wouldn't let me go! I have read many of Susanna's amazing poems and so I'm not surprised that she is able to touch that deep emotional place in us using another medium.
Thank you for such a moving and hopeful story. YOU are an angel Susanna!
Loved this story!
I absolutely loved this story from start to finish. The message itself was truly profound and inspiring and especially loved the ending. A great read!
A Journey in My Heart
I really enjoyed listening to this book! I spent two years working in England in the 1990âs, and Susanna Hargreavesâ writing took me back to the many weekend train trips I took, exploring the countryside and historic villages. She has a talent for bringing those wonderful, out of the way places back to life for me! I too, have sat in the pubs on cold days, and been warmed by homemade stews and strong teas. Beautiful!
The narrator is Barbara Martin. She possesses an expressive variety of vocal pitches, and her ability to create a tempo and to bring the characters to life through the variation in the voices she utilizes, all combined to make this a very enjoyable experience for me. She leads the listener through the emotional moments, the tensions, and the fun! Her reading created a rhythm that made the experience very enjoyable. Barbara speaks very clearly. She is easy to listen to but doesnât let the listenerâs attention wander. Perfect!
A Heartwarming Love Story
Tragedy struck Sarah in the death of her son and she wonders how she can raise her head and face another day. A very special visitor guides Sarah to a sudden trip to England. There she meets David and begins to heal. A Woman's Heart is a very special character driven love story that grabs your heart from the first page and grips it all the way to the end. I fell in love with Sarah and felt her pain. She appreciates her family and all they are trying to do for her, but she just needs to escape the memories and find a way to move from hour to hour. David has pain of his own and their meeting, guided by Sarah's fortitous friend has a very happy ending. Ms. Hargreaves descriptions of England made me feel like I stood in the center of all the wonderful places Sarah and David visited. This is a short book, but packed with emotion and powerful characters. Definitely worth the read.
