This week Brent and The Mayor discuss many topics including The NCAA Tournament, Monday Night and The Road to WrestleMania 42! We then get into episode 1 of our WrestleMania 3 rewatch!!! Come for the wrestling and stay for the little people this week on AWIPOD!
This week on A Work in Progress (AWiPOD), The Mayor and Brent are BACK after a two-week hiatus—and they’ve got a LOT to catch up on.
The guys dive headfirst into the Road to WrestleMania, including Oba stepping up to answer Lesnar’s open challenge, Randy Orton’s shocking heel turn (and seriously… who was on the other end of that phone?), and the buzz around Ronda Rousey in AEW.
Then it’s time to hop back in the time machine as they continue their Road to WrestleMania III series, breaking down more WWF Superstars of Wrestling from March 1987—with all the chaos, characters, and classic nonsense you’d expect.
All that and plenty more this week on AWiPOD!
The Mayor and Brent break down all the highs, lows, and chaos from this week’s Monday Night Raw, then gear up for Elimination Chamber with their bold predictions and can’t-miss picks for the weekend ahead!
This week, we jump back to February 28, 1987, for an episode of WWF Superstars of Wrestling that perfectly captures the chaos and charm of late-80s wrestling. Hulk Hogan is out here preaching the gospel of vitamins and intensity, while the Hart Foundation continue proving they’re about 30 years ahead of everyone else in the ring.
We’ve got quick squash matches featuring unfortunate local talent, the high-energy chaos of Koko B. Ware, and the cool, calculated menace of Jake Roberts—who somehow makes carrying a snake feel like the most normal thing on the show.
It’s loud, it’s ridiculous, and it’s everything you love about 1987 WWF—where the matches are short, the personalities are huge, and subtlety is nowhere to be found.
This week we head back to WWF Superstars of Wrestling from February 21, 1987, where the Road to WrestleMania III is in full overdrive.
Hogan is fired up, Andre’s betrayal looms over everything, and Bobby Heenan is out here instigating like it’s a full-time job.
We get classic 80s squash matches, Hart Foundation dominance, Jake “The Snake” being terrifying with minimal effort, and enough WrestleMania hype to power the Pontiac Silverdome twice.
Big hair, bigger promos, and absolutely zero chill — just the way 1987 intended.
This week on AWIPOD, Brent and The Mayor break down all the chaos from the 2026 Royal Rumble before officially hitting the road to WrestleMania III. Then it’s a trip back to Valentine’s Day 1987 as we fire up an episode of WWF Superstars of Wrestling.
Expect appearances from Tito Santana, Cowboy Bob Orton, Don Muraco, Demolition, and plenty more 80s madness along the way.
All that, plus laughs, nostalgia, and nonsense—because it’s always A Work in Progress. 🎙️💥
The Royal Rumble Prediction Show is LIVE now wherever you get your podcasts!
The Mayor and Brent lay out their Rumble picks, then dive into a 1998 Raw Tag Team Royal Rumble and the Corporate Battle Royal to find out who grabbed the legendary #30 spot in the 1999 Royal Rumble.
Pure chaos, classic wrestling, and plenty of nonsense—only on AWIPOD.
This week we’re diving headfirst back into the chaos of WCW 2000, as we break down Monday Nitro from January 31st, 2000!
The WCW World Cruiserweight Title Tournament heats up with Lash LeRoux vs. Evan Karagias in a Quarterfinal showdown.
Things get hardcore in a Bensonhurst Street Fight as The Mamalukes collide with Crowbar & David Flair, while Billy Kidman squares off against the unstoppable Wall.
Plus, it’s pure mayhem in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match with Jeff Jarrett & The Harris Brothers taking on Sid Vicious and Terry Funk.
All this madness—and plenty more WCW nonsense—on this week’s episode
This episode is a tribute to our co-host and dear friend Glenn Abbott, who sadly passed away on December 18th. Dan Griffin joins The Mayor and Brent as we remember Glenn and share heartfelt messages from friends of the show in his honor.
A sincere thank you to UTTRob, Andy from The Bang Bang Podcast, Thomas Brice of Sportzwire Radio, and DC Matthews from DDT Wrestling for contributing their memories and kind words.
Rest in peace, Glenn “Armbar” Abbott. You will always be loved, missed, and remembered.
This week, The Mayor and Brent break down Drew McIntyre shocking the world by capturing the Championship from Cody Rhodes on SmackDown, then officially draw the numbers for the 1st Annual Glenn Abbott Memorial Rumble.
The chaos continues as we dive deeper into WCW Souled Out 2000 and all the madness that comes with it.
Join us live this Saturday with special guest Dan Griffin from Unbooking the Territory and The Dr. Who Pod for a Royal Rumble watch-along, complete with a drinking game.
We are also honoring the memory of Glenn Abbott (GAWrestlenut). If you’d like to send a video, audio, or written message in his memory, please email [email protected], and we’ll share it on the show.
