Believe it or not, we all have our own unique story that can change the world. But often times, we either don't know our own story or we're too afraid to share it.
Our guest this episode is Mark Snyder. Since he was a child to his adult life, Mark had always been using the power of stories to make a positive impact in the world -- to humanize one another to make the world a more empathetic and compassionate place.
In this episode, we discussed:
How Mark experienced relentless bullying as a queer teenager growing up in rural Pennsylvania
How he had almost taken his own life but instead we discussed how he survived and eventually thrived
How he then shared his story so fewer teenagers would go through what he had to go through in high school
How he found the courage to start a queer activist group that garnered him international headlines as well as death threats
How he had to find out through one of the hardest ways that his own dad is gay
And how he realized his calling of helping others to find their own story, and their voice to share it too
If you've experienced a difficult life, I hope Mark's story will inspire you so you too can find the power of your own story and share your story of your survival and triumph.
