Sister Faustina knows that greater knowledge of God brings about greater love for God. What are the ways we can have greater knowledge of God? Scripture is the obvious answer and attendance at Mass. Are there other ways, too? I talk about some ways that I think you can gain a greater knowledge of God.

Sister Faustina is a mystic...however, most of us are not. What does that mean? Are we lacking in our faith if we aren't mystics, too? No. Not all of us have this special grace and that's okay. Because Sister Faustina is a mystic it can be difficult for some of us to relate to her or get anything out of this diary. To be sure, though, even non-mystics can get much out of her diary.

Has anyone ever come to you and asked for you to pray for something that you knew was not good for them? Sister Faustina is approached by a woman who asks for prayers for something that was not good. Sister Faustina tells her that she can't pray for such an intention, but will pray for her, in general. That takes a lot of courage to say but we have to remember that God will not bless sin.

Somehow I make a connection between "The Karate Kid" movie and Sister Faustina's Diary. Lol! You never know where my mind is going to go. Sister Faustina shares with us that sometimes she just doesn't understand what God is doing in her life but she surrenders regardless.

We will pray a litany to the Divine Mercy today. I would encourage you to think of any intentions you may have before we pray this litany.

What's love got to do with it? Everything! Love for God and love from God is at the heart of our relationship with Him. Sister Faustina's writings today are like a beautiful love letter to her beloved. The best way to love God is to give Him your whole life.

Because of the flow of our readings today, it's going to be a little longer today. Pay close attention to what Sister Faustina has to say about confessors and spiritual directors.

We are all called as baptized Christians to proclaim the Good News. Two of the best ways to do that is to: 1. Live our Catholic Faith fully and boldly and 2. Be able to explain the faith with clarity and charity. Sister Faustina today is greatly concerned for mankind, especially for those that don't know Jesus and those that know who He is but don't love Him.

Sister Faustina is overwhelmed by all the sin on Shrove Tuesday. She wonders why God allows humanity to exist. All the bad in the world can overwhelm us and make us wonder what God is up to. It may even cause us to question whether we should be people of faith. We must remember that our calling as Christians is to wade into the dark and bring light, because...if not us, then who?

Do you ever feel like you shouldn't burden God with all that's on your mind? Do you think that He has more important things to do than listen to you? God tells Sister Faustina to tell Him everything. He wants her to approach Him like a child and talk to Him about everything. Don't forget, God can handle all your thoughts and prayers and He wants to hear what you have to say.
