Here we go again. I guess we can say same story, different day. But this one isn’t quite the same. Another young black man killed during a traffic stop. Not during a shootout. Not in the midst of hurting anyone. As a result of a traffic stop a life has been taken. Protect and serve was the mission. 

The blue wall stands high. Like a fortress. Impenetrable. When will the time come when someone takes a sledgehammer to knock it down? How can those behind the wall protect ones who go against the very mission accepted - to protect and serve?

Tyre Nichols was a Black man killed by five other Black men. Another case of Black on Black crime? Not really. Blue on Black crime is more appropriate. Will those behind the blue wall speak out against their murderous comrades or is the blue bond stronger than morals and ethics? Protect and serve was the oath taken. 

Who knows when the next police killing will be. But the unfortunate reality is we all know it will happen again. And again. And again. What’s the solution? When is anyone behind the wall going to say enough is enough? Airing out dirty laundry shouldn’t apply when the laundry is worn by those who abuse their power.
